The second season of Mako Mermaids consists of twenty-six episodes, the first 13 episodes were released on Netflix on February 13th 2015, with the second half of the season releasing on May 29th, 2015. Netflix has called the two halves as separate seasons, two and three.

Plot[]

Two new mermaids, Ondina and Mimmi, arrive and they are convinced that Zac is a threat to mermaid pods everywhere. As the mermaids struggle to take back his powers, they discover that his connection with Mako isn’t quite an accident. New mermaids and mermen are met along the way, and some are even created!

Timeline[]

December 17th, 2013 - Unbeknownst to Mako's Mermaid Council, Ondina and Mimmi obtain legs for the first time. Mimmi concocts a Fifty Moons Potion and, with Ondina, attempts to use this potion on Zac in efforts in trying to remove Zac's powers after luring him to Mako's Moon Pool for his Seventh Moon since his true form and powers were restored, but it was interrupted by Evie, who came to rescue him, inadvertently going through metamorphosis. However, as Zac was never human, the potion doesn't work and he is left unharmed.
December 18th, 2013 - Evie's first transformation
February 15th, 2014 - Zac learns of his true origins. Evie masters the Moon Spell Control in Mako's Moon Pool. Mimmi and Ondina (and presumably Sirena) are banished off the pod.
March 17th, 2014 - Mimmi, Ondina, and Sirena are welcomed back into the pod. Veridia decides to let the pod return to Mako by the next full moon.
April 15th, 2014 - The Mako Pod was nearly destroyed by Erik, who was in possession of the former Trident's source (its central moonstone) when he attempted to drain the Moon Water from the Mako Island's Moon Pool, ultimately stripping the Mako Pod's source of magic. Fortunately, they were saved by Zac, who was then recognized by the entire Mako Pod as a hero. Zac manages to shut down the merman chamber permanently.
April 16th, 2014 - The Mako Pod returns to Mako.

Brooke Nicole Lee, Gemma Forsyth, Dominic Deutscher, Amy Ruffle, Chai Romruen, Kerith Atkinson and Rowan Hills are confirmed to be returning for season 2.
Lucy Fry and Ivy Latimer will not be returning for season 2.
Isabel "Issi" Durant has been confirmed to be joining the cast for it's second season as Ondina.
Canadian Actress, Allie Bertram has been confirmed to be joining the cast for it's second season as Mimmi.
Actor/Model Alex Cubis has been confirmed to be joining the cast as Erik.
Jonathan tweeted that they met on Monday on 6th January with the main cast.
